I. Czinka Panna Roma Culture Event

The Czinka Panna Roma Cultural Association was founded in the summer of 2005 with the aim of promoting the social inclusion of the Roma in Hungary, primarily by presenting their cultural values. The founders were originally leaders of the Roma communities in Győr-Moson-Sopron and they were mainly involved in the promotion of traditionalism and the organization of talent research and cultural events but decided to create an organization that is constantly evolving and expanding its range of activities. Piroska Bogdán was elected as the chairwoman of the Czinka Panna Roma Cultural Association.

The news of the Association's development has spread rapidly, and the leaders of the local and county self-government welcomed the establishment. We must highlight Dr. Imre Szakács, the head of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Self-Government at that time, who supported the Association from the start, so it was able to organize its first event, the Czinka Panna Roma Culture Event.

The founders were looking for Roma talents before the formation, so they were able to hold the first Czinka Panna Roma Culture Event on 26 November 2005 under the name of “Czinka Panna, a csodaprímás nyomában”. After the opening speech of Dr. Imre Szakács, President of the Győr-Moson-Sopron General Assembly, a few local and national Roma politicians welcomed the event and the establishment of the Association. Afterwards, local talents were introduced, and finally the program of János Babai and the Roma Cocktail Show closed the event. Among the productions László Jakus, the then secretary of the Association, introduced the Association and the life and work of Panna Czinka.

Later, this event was named as the I. Czinka Panna Culture Event.
